Short Writing #1. Write a post of 350 words (minimum) that defines one of the following terms: feminine, masculine, happiness, or success.
This is not an essay, so you should not include an intro and a conclusion, but each paragraph must have a topic sentence. DO NOT use the dictionary or any outside sources. Use your own experiences to illustrate how you personally define the word. Use “I” (first person) since this is about your perspective; do not use “you” (second person) or “they” (third person)
Success: The Achievement of Personal Goals and Wealth Acquisition
I believe the term success means achieving set goals in one’s life. Goals can be money-oriented or personal goals. Success based on personal goals means achieving goals not related to money but related to oneself. Personal goals can be based on attaining self-discipline, self-awareness, or starting on a fitness journey. Society often views success based on acquiring material items such as a new car model or buying a house, which are important milestones to achieve in life. However, achieving other personal goals as small as they are is also success. In 2020, just as the pandemic started, I decided to live a healthier lifestyle and incorporate exercise into my life. I set a wake-up time and started going to the gym every morning. The challenging part was getting up at 5 a.m.; it took me weeks before getting used to the new schedule. In 2 months, I reached my desired weight goals, gained a bit of muscle, and looked toned. I still exercise and believe that my self-discipline made me successful in reaching my personal weight goal.
I define success from a monetary perspective as gaining financial freedom. Even though I may believe in the joy of simple things in life, money is as important to me as the next person. I still consider myself successful when I write personal goals and achieve them, but I also believe success results from wealth. Wealth is a measure of success, and having money improves the quality of life. Moreover, gaining financial freedom is part of achieving personal goals. I am not yet a millionaire, but I aspire to be one and significantly improve my financial status and my family’s. I believe financial freedom is the highest level of success because I can afford the luxury, run investments and create employment for others. Although I have had times where I have had more money than I needed, I have also had less of it; I prefer having money because it gives me freedom and confidence to face life. Therefore, I aspire to succeed financially and achieve personal goals to lead a quality and fulfilling life.
