The politics of responsibility by Vaclav Havel explains that the World together as a unit needs to take responsibility for all that threatens it today. We need to understand ourselves as a multicultural and multi polar civilization. We need to allow people to be more completely themselves and stop undermining the individuality of different cultures. Under spiritual politics, "Instead of serving people, many of these creations enslave them. Instead of helping people to develop their identities, they take them away." As I look at the United States, I see so many things that need to be corrected; the border children being separated from their parents and placed in cages, the oppression of African Americans and Native Americans, the inequality of women, the homeless and hungry. However, as we look at the oppression of the rest of the World, we are elevated a bit higher than so many other countries. We, as a country, have work to do. The responsibility does need to start from within our own selves and then radiate out to the World. We can achieve great things if we work together as a unit.
