            Simple Network Management Protocol or SNMP is an application layer protocol that monitors and manages network devices connected to LAN and WAN networks. Its function is to provide a network management system that helps networking devices communicate. There are three versions of SNMP: SNMPv1, SNMPv2 and SNMPv3. SNMPv1 is the original version, while SNMPv2 and SNMPv3were created later as an advancement of the first. SNMPv1builds trust between the managers and the agents’ using communities (Networks, 2021).
