How would you determine team composition in multinational team?

I can define team formation as bringing people together to achieve a particular goal or objectives. Team composition is one of the most factors in establishing a local or an international organization. The primary reason for the formation of a team is to produce better yields. It should lay structure and consideration in the establishment of a team to succeed. To begin with, team size is one determinant in the composition of a group. I base team size on the plan the organization is trying to achieve. For example, a global insurance company requires a large team size than a locally based company.

Experience is also a determinant in team composition. Depending on the company’s aim, experience matters. Organizations deploy people with experience since there can run the business smoothly. People with experience have more knowledge of its products and services, thus making it easy to sell them (Knockaert et al., 2011). Last, the level of education is another determinant in the composition of a team. For the team to excel, the organization should consider sharing posts based on education level. Individuals with a higher level of education lead the team since they have more knowledge.

How will you address the diversity of culture within the team?

With technology invasion into every business sector, the world has become a global community, thus providing many industries and companies a platform to expand their products and services. Because of many opportunities, the creation of jobs has emerged since companies are growing globally. Companies are in a rush to develop teams internationally to sell their products and services. However, for this to succeed, companies need to determine factors in team composition.

Cultural diversity is one of the primary hurdles an organization needs to consider (Eriksen, 2020). As an excellent manager and leader, respecting local culture is essential since it enhances unity among employees. To add to this, cultural respect enables an organization to run smoothly, thus not struggling with the locals and employees. Giving opportunities to qualified locals into a global organization is an advantage since it helps understand and respect the company's culture. Creating awards and celebrations to appreciate different cultures is essential; thus, employees can interact freely. In conclusion, different cultures have other holidays and special days (Acton, Braun & Foti, 2020). Giving them breaks to celebrate is a sign of respect and that the company appreciates diversification of culture

Because the team will operate in a virtual existence, what structure and support will his team need to foster productivity?

To foster productivity, an excellent leader should motivate his team with positivity. They are supposed to encourage them, thus creating a pleasant working environment. Inspiring with positivity assists in the behavior shaping of members. In addition, a good bond between leadership and the team emerges because of encouragement. It enables the team to work without fear of contradiction; thus, more hard work. Leaders do set communication expectations that aids in fostering productivity. It is one of the critical factors that contribute to team performance. Due to communication, team members can understand their responsibility. The lack of communication leads to confusion among members, thus resulting in failures. Ultimately, knowing members' strengths and weaknesses is an advantage to an organization. Members may have hidden gifts and talents and, if discovered, may be of use to a company. The manager's responsibility is to find those talents since it may help while allocating tasks to them.

How will you measure the success of the team?

Team member attendance would be my number option in measuring the success of the team. The presence of employees matters a lot, thus meaning more productivity. In case of absenteeism, a team member should notify the management to be on the safer side. I would also ensure it through policies such as how often members are late and the absenteeism rate. Customer satisfaction is another way I would measure success. In short, if customers are satisfied with the company’s products and services, that mean the team has put more effort, thus producing successful results (Acton, Braun & Foti, 2020). Through gathering feedback is another way of measuring customer satisfaction. A survey could be conducted to gather customer satisfaction.

What are the characteristics you will look for in a leader of this team?

Good communication skill is one characteristic I would look in a leader. A good leader should communicate clearly with their members. Excellent communication skills enable workers to understand since the leader has presented expectations. Because of effective communication, the bond between leadership and the team develops since there is clear understanding. Respect is another trait I would look for in a leader. An influential leader must be respectful to his team. To add to that the leader should respect employees' culture, religions, and ideas. A good leader should listen to team member's grievances and offer ideas on matters that affect them (Goll, Sambharya & Tucci 2021). Besides offering views, they must listen to team member's statements that may help the organization. In conclusion, vision is what I would look for in a leader. They must see the company's future and work toward taking it to the next level.
