Analysis of Jamal Khashoggi case
I asses with full confidence that Khashoggi was murdered by Saudi crown prince.
- On the 2nd of October, 2018, security camera footage shows Khashoggi entering the Istanbul, Saudi consulate. Reports proved that he wanted the documents required for him to marry his Turkish paramour.
- On the 10th of October, Turkish authorities revealed a 15-man hit squad involved in Khashoggi's killing, with several of them having close ties to the crown prince. Later, Saudi government officials have heavy sanctions from the U.S and Germany.
- On the 21st of October, a Saudi official argued that the cause of Khashoggi's death was a chokehold. The official says this was in an attempt of the security officers to detain him. This argument is in contrast to the audio footage at the time of Khashoggi's killing.
- On the 16th of November, the CIA assessments concluded that orders to kill Khashoggi's came from the Saudi crown prince. Other sources that confirmed the reports include the New York Times and NBC News, among others. However, despite the CIA conducting the assessments, they did not comment on this matter.
- On November 21st Saudi foreign minister avidly refutes the CIA claims in an interview with CNBC (Turak, 2018). He says that the proposed regime's potential change that would prevent the crown prince from becoming king is outrageous.
