foreign bodies or harmful substance that enters in the body. Describe how a macrophage engulf

lipoprotein (LDL). The body cells take up LDL when LDL receptors bind in a coated pit. What type

FYI: If the LDL receptor failed to bind with the coated pit, the cell will not able to take up the
cholesterol. Instead cholesterol will accumulate in the walls of the arterial blood vessels that may
lead to high blood pressure, occluded (blocked) arteries and heart attack.
