Caring for the elderly have a special place in my heart. Since I graduated my Bachelor's degree, I am more eager and invested in gerontology. Thus, the intent of this writing is to signify my plan to pursue higher education in your reputable institution. Being enrolled in your graduate study program in Gerontology Nurse Practitioner further intensify my passion with caring for the elderlies.

With this in mind, here are the reasons in my undertaking;

• To seek Information: by an underlying curiosity about older people and issues, the desire for knowledge and staying current on new research regarding aging. This includes seeking best practice research when evaluating and providing interventions to older adults seen in healthcare. In depth knowledge through graduate school program will further enhance the quality care for the elderly.
• To have Knowledge-based approach: from learning and using theories of aging; biological, psychological, and social aspects of aging; and diseases of aging including types of dementia. Most especial evidence-based practice that will be utilize in the field of gerontology. Through graduate school advance knowledge about the elderlies will be applied.
• To develop Innovative thinking: by the ability to apply complex concepts, develop creative solutions or use previous solutions in creative and adaptive ways for breakthrough thinking in the workplace or field of aging. Especially in graduate school where advance level of education is experience, this innovation will take place a result.
• To acquire Inter-professional communication and understanding: by the ability to recognize and appreciate what other professionals' contribute to the well-being of older adults. A more complex level of communication and understanding will be acquired through graduate school.
• To have Program development: by the ability to plan a project involving resources, personnel, and organizational impact that will positively contribute to the well-being of older adults. As a ultimate goal of each post graduate to develop a program or a study or a research in advance gerontology and health team as a whole. The programs will be a guide for further development of care for the elderly.
• To be an advocate through Health literacy awareness: by examining written and verbal communications with clients. Being able to write healthcare educational materials for literacy level that will better educate caregivers and older clients and the whole community as well. Education is one of the weapon in understanding the world of gerontology. Proper knowledge about the elderlies will pave way to optimization of quality care.
