Javaid Perwaiz an OB/GYN doctor was found guilty of performing hysterectomies that were medically unneeded. Prosecutors charged him with 52 charges linked to a conspiracy to cheat insurance companies by performing unnecessary hysterectomies and other operations on women. He would perform diangoeszitc proceeds with broken equipment. Further, he would tell patient’s that they had cancer. Some factors that may have resulted in the doctor losing his moral compass include greed, being overworked, and apathy. He would buy lizard cars and accumulated wealth in exchange for poor medical care for patients. Pervaiz broke the rile of do no harm.Red flags ignored by the hospital include In the 1990s, Perwaiz was found guilty of tax fraud. In the 1980s, he received a disciplinary letter from the Virginia Board of Medicine chastising him for poor note-taking after being sacked from a hospital for reportedly conducting 11 hysterectomies without medical justification(Mettler & Schmidt, 2020).

There are many negative and potential outcomes for the hospital due to this information. First ere is like to be lawsuits. This will be based on medical malpractice and negligence. Second, patients will contact medical malpractice attorneys and new doctors have been consulted on the legality of their treatment. Further, the emotional and physical impacts on patient is not measurable. Their trust in healthcare is altered forever. This is because Perwaiz fraudulently backdated Medicaid permission forms for sterilization operations and faked medical charts of expectant mothers to induce their births early on days he was already scheduled to work (Mettler & Schmidt, 2020). Some reasons that red flags were not acted upon was due to things getting lost.. Also the lack of follow up and background checks.In all, this is a very sad and heartbreaking situation.
