COVID-19 has highlighted the inefficiencies in the Jamaican medical system specifically in pharmaceuticals over the past three months
Jamaican medical system: In this system the health care facilities are free to the residents of the country. The people have to wait for a longer time by standing in queue and waiting for their turn.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research design: The impact of COVID-19 is unpredictable but the lesson is learnt from the disease outbreak that occur in past. The view is made that this type of disease will be harmful for country. The Jamaican model is followed in various countries. The inefficiencies can be easily seen in this model as the cases are increasing day by day. The proper research is to be done in order to know about the inefficiencies that are rising with rising patients.
Methodology: The survey is performed in this regard to see whether the patients are treated or not and if treated how well they are treated.
Population sample: The population is divided in various groups that who are positive, who are negative, who is waiting for result of test and the one has not give the test. The views of all the four groups are taken on the medical system.
Sampling method: There should be massive testing of each and every individual regardless they have symptoms or not. The other thing can be used is that testing the individuals according to probability that they may have the virus. The one more thing that can be done is creating web survey and voluntary people will tell who want to give the test. The conclusions should be formed from pre existing web surveys.
The inefficiencies are easily known after following the above steps as the patients are increasing but the bed are not available. This is the major inefficiency faced by the health care system.
