Reflection on Lessons Learned
Overview
- Reflection is what learners and individuals generally do not give the opportunity to be realized since they are overly preoccupied with the subsequent task, excessively engaged with the new undertaking, forgetting to give complete attention to whatever was accomplished in the last activity, or even busy contending with the forthcoming task.
- In this regard, this reflection paper presents individual lessons about business focusing on management, entrepreneurship, and communications. Accompanying the reflections is a creativity and career plan.
Reflection on Management
- The lesson in the acquisition and contextualization of the management construct was that it evolves through the administration of a multidimensional organization focusing on achieving ultimate objectives.
- The primary management responsibilities are planning, administration, personnel governance, and supervision (Kaehler & Grundei, 2018).
- Another lesson was that management is accomplishing everything correctly at the different tiers of the organization. It is a subject in which an entity is organized, managed, and controlled. Management of human resources, strategic marketing management, and supply chain management are basic examples of management.
- Throughout the course, HRM principles comprehend that they integrate an organization's trade and activities, combine and guide staff along with business plans and make arrangements for a company to attain a competitive edge (Elrehail et al., 2020; Hamadamin & Atan, 2019).
- Strategic marketing management emerges into play with specific critical targets that a firm must meet. It is the firm's responsibility to make the most of the established branding plan employing specialized procedures. It requires identifying target clients, generating extra prospects, and developing programs that will use expertise in niche markets, prospects, and core competencies (Kirova, 2017).
- Supply chain management (SCM) is another crucial element defined and explored throughout the course. It involves processes through which the materials for the production of items are transported, stored, marketed, and tracked so the company may utilize this knowledge to promote future sales (LeMay et al., 2017).
- The lesson acquired was that the management of an enterprise needs to establish and fulfill ambitious priorities in all aspects of administration to take immediate and decisive measures, overcome rivalry, and encourage everyone else to attain the utmost levels.
- The profitability of the firm hinges on who leads the teams and how they successfully contribute to HRM in the organization environment and staff; retain customers via appropriate SCM and integrate missions and integrate leaders with strategic marketing management (Ionescu & Bolca?, 2019; Ibrahim & Daniel, 2019).
Reflection on Entrepreneurship
- From course undertakings and discussions, it was clear that entrepreneurship is a driving force for strategic advantage and is generally considered as crucial creative thinking and innovation for expertise. In each country, entrepreneurship has indeed been acknowledged as a critical economic necessity.
- Acquisition of a wide variety of entrepreneurial understanding aimed at increasing learners' employability to established enterprises. The lectures on entrepreneurship emphasized practical training, which encouraged the link between concept and reality.
- Students were able to differentiate instances from others and thereby potentially became more creative in creating insights in novel settings and establishing problem-based solutions. Each student also learned from real-world instances via rigorous in-class discussions using interactive techniques (Diandra & Azmy, 2020; Ranjan, 2019).
Reflection on Communication
- It was evident and apparent from the lectures, debates, and interactions that communication inside a company is the cornerstone for employee engagement and empowerment.
- Communication is frequently taken for granted while it is the cornerstone to each business that succeeds. It is the fundamental base for contextual comprehension.
- Communication is technically characterized as knowledge sharing through words, pictures, symbols, text, or behaviour. It is the basis for all interactions and crucial to every organization in which its stakeholders can participate.
- Without reliable communication, relationships could be stained because one side does not entirely comprehend the other. In most cases, the organization cannot offer a coherent message, thus clarifying the values it provides (Stacho et al., 2019; Radovic Markovic & Salamzadeh, 2018).
Plan for Implementation of Creativity, Innovation and Design My Life and Career
Current Position:
- Junior Warehouse & Logistics Operations Supervisor
Performance Summary:
- I have met all the objectives established in my last performance assessment and in some cases I had exceeded them. Although I am a part of the union contract, I have not explicitly been evaluated on my leadership skills. I have however listed a number of skills I want to work on and spoken with my manager.
Career Goal:
- My short-term objective is to have an extensive leadership exposure in my present capacity while the aim is to become a business executive in the supply chain in the longer run. Another objective is to register in business administration for a Master’s Degree.
Areas of Strength:
- Building relationships – in particular with customers and teammates; very organized, very detailed and capable of assessing complex circumstances and providing appropriate solutions rapidly.
Areas of Development:
- I look forward to building my confidence – especially in striving to motivate team members who follow up with me. In my presentation to top management, I really like to improve my confidence significantly. I additionally would like to increase my abilities and expertise as I do not really feel as though I understand how to train others. I had the chance to handle some modest operations and ought to have an expanded expertise and competence in business and project management.
Development Goal 1:
- To increase confidence in personnel and in the executive team when delivering my ideas. At least four leadership and communication books must be completed as part of the action steps. Moreover, my senior supervisor will observe some of my presentation sessions with the senior management and then provide improved feedback. This will take three months (July 1st, 2021 – October 31st, 2021). The assessment involves the readings in a specified timeframe, and my senior supervisory manager will discuss development in presentation abilities.
Development Goal 2:
- To improve my coaching skills to empower and exhibit highest quality among my workforce. The measures here are to explore my aims of strengthening my leadership capabilities with my team and to contact everyone to see what they want in a team leader and try to match their demands in this sector. I also found a mentor who is a fantastic coach, I will see her once a month to talk about coaching techniques and the various settings that I will be using. This could take not more than two months (July 1st, 2021- August 31st, 2021). In this review, a 360-degree leadership assessment will be carried out to gauge my success and obtain continuing mentor input.
Development Goal 3:
- Improving my expertise and capabilities in business management and project management so that I can better organize a project, both in respect of assets and duties. The task is to register in a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and take Project Management e-learning course. The Master’s Degree will take three years (January 2022 – December 2024). The e-learning course takes only six months (July 1st, 2021-January 31st, 2022). The evaluation is successful completion of the two courses.
