I have chosen to look at the strategic level of decision-making at Amazon, where Jeff Bezos has implemented a process to constantly make the right decisions. One decision that Amazon Sr. managers need to continue making is to guide the company onto what the next steps are in how to increase sales. They need to ensure that the company is still innovating and moving forward. One specific decision that they would have to make at the strategic level is what specific goods to promote. Bezos's process in making the right decisions and innovating has the company ensure that they make type two decisions, or reversible decisions (Larson, 2018). The decisions made by the strategic planning team must be able to change and be removed in case it is a bad decision, that way any decisions can be easily remediated.

When deciding what items to promote to increase sales, Amazon's strategic planning team needs to be able to have awareness of what items get the most views and the most sales. There needs to be an information system tool that can track the complicated data and show it in clean, clear tables that can be easily understood. Tableau is an analytical tool that be can be used by Amazon to keep track of the pertinent data. This tool can keep track of how many hits/views different items are getting and can determine what specific items should be shared at the home page as "popular" to increase sales. By viewing these graphs that Tableau can create, Sr. managers can make the correct strategic decisions to determine what products to promote to boost sales.
