For the week 2 discussion, I am choosing the strategic level of decision making. The strategic level of decision making includes things like technology decisions, capacity decisions, facility decisions, and vertical integration. These decisions are typically long term big decisions that will have a deep impact on the company. The strategic level of decisions deal with achieving competitive advantages and growth of the business. They pretty much dictate how the companies next 5-10 years will be.

A real example of this would be a restaurant. A restaurant owner has been doing very well in his first restaurant and is looking to expand his business. Creating a new location would fall under a facility decision. Opening a new restaurant is definitely a long term company decision. Inventory management is extremely important for restaurants because of all of their ingredients and tools needed to operate. That is how IT would play a role.
