Context of Assessment:

 

In your workplace

If you are currently working and wish to apply your learning within your workplace, your project must meet the following context of assessment criteria:

• There must be an outcome focused reason for your networking efforts
• You must be able to contact internal departments and/or external organisations or individuals on behalf of your workplace to achieve this outcome
• You must be able to gather evidence of your networking experiences

OR

Individual Networking

If you are not currently working or have no access to the criteria listed within the context of assessment, personal networking goal and complete the tasks for a personal but professional outcome.

 

Your Tasks:

 

Task 1

Draw a map of your extended networks and display this with as much detail as possible. The idea of the task is to get you to explore your current networks, both personal and professional. You must ensure that you include the help that can be received or given from each contact.

 

Present this information in as creative a format as you may be inspired to do so. You may like to use a mind map. For more information, Google search for 'mind mapping'. You may instead like to use the Networking Information Template and list the information that way.

 

Task 2

Using the Networking Record Template, write the goal of your networking efforts. Over the course of four weeks make at least four networking calls to achieve this goal. Document the calls and the outcomes of the calls in the template. 

 

The following list outlines each of the call types you could make each week:

1.      Reconnection call,

2.      How can I help call,

3.      Thinking of you call,

4.      Follow up call,

5.      How can you help call

 

Task 3

Using the space provided below, report on the outcome of your networking activities from the four weeks. Discuss what went right, what was unsuccessful and how you will change your approach to ensure further success next time. Ensure to include how you inspired respect and trust in your networking circle.

 

 

 

 

Task 4

At the end of the four weeks list of at least three actions you will take to ensure you will develop and maintain these networks over the next six months. Record your answer in the space provided.
