Assume Sofia is an experienced and talented GM. From the point of view of new guests arriving at the resort, how important to them will be her ability to reduce the resort's operating costs? Alternatively, how important to them will be her ability to find ways to increase the number and quality of the resort's guest service offerings?

If we have a look at the scenario from the view point of a visitor, I think her willingness to find ways to improve the amount and standard of guest facilities provided by the resort would be the most important thing. From my own experience, just something tiny like a taste of local chocolate is very special and a great and inexpensive offering for your visitors who are there to say a bridal shower is very special. Guests do not know the resort's operational expenses, but the management teams are critical behind the scenes. The guests are not going to be disturbed by it from my traveling experience.

Sofia hopes that Damario will build a budget that raises the revenue and benefit of the resorts without reducing their customer service to deter angry visitors.
