Performance evaluation concepts have been developed almost exclusively with the individual employee in mind. More contemporary organizations are restructuring themselves around teams.

How should organizations use teams to evaluate performance?

It is important that a team actually uses the teamwork to reach their goals. The team needs to understand it, because they will be held accountable for their actions. I think if the team members  do peer evaluations it helps to make sure everyone is in check, and keeps the cohesiveness of the team.  This is another honest way to hold everyone accountable for their actions

What concerns would you have about being part of a team evaluation, especially when it comes to ROI?

I would do whatever I could when working on a team especially when it comes to the Return on Investment.  I would try to make sure that everyone that is working on the team is pulling their weight, and if they were not I would ask if they needed help, because I do not want our team to fail.

Should individual performance be measured too?

I think that individual performance and team performance should both be measured.  If I am part of a team, I take that seriously and would hope that my fellow team members do as well. There may be times when some people are doing more than others, and then I can help them, or they could help me. Just as long as everyone is working together and trying to make that effort so that things go smoothly and work out.
