In this writing, you were supposed to provide an evaluation of a piece you have recently encountered. This
can be a movie, book, music album, television series, ect. The review needs to persuade the
audience to either also engage with the piece or not.
Content Requirements:
? A clear and concise thesis
? This thesis statement should at the very least address the title of the piece, the
genre, the author, and the purpose.
? A necessary but spoiler-free summary of the piece
? Provide just enough content so the reader has an understanding of the piece? Do not include any spoilers. Remember, you are reviewing something
he/she/they have not yet engaged with yet
you need to consider the following questions: Who is your targeted
audience? What is your attitude/tone towards the piece?
? Utilization of logos, ethos, and pathos
? Appeal to the audience's logic, ethics, and emotions
? Logical progression of ideas
? This is a fancy way of saying that your writing needs to flow, specifically in a way
that makes sense.
? Minimal use of first person pronouns (I, you, me, etc)
? This makes the writing more collegiate and academic
