1- Discuss three important challenges for communicating in organizations today, as discussed in Chapter 12. Which challenge do you think poses the biggest difficulty for most people? Justify your answer.
Chapter 13
1- Think about a speech that you found particularly effective. Describe and evaluate the speaker and the speech in terms of 1-organization, 2-credibility, 3-use of evidence, 4-delivery, 5-the introduction and 6-the conclusion.
Chapter 14
1- How dangerous and mean do you think the world really is? How much television do you watch? Comment on the connection between the answers to these two questions.
2- In reflecting on your own communication behaviors, do your relations with others rely predominantly on tribal, literate/print, or electronic means? Do you use different forms with different people? If so, why? In your own relationships, what is lost and what is gained by using each medium?
Chapter 15
1- Discuss the three ways in which computer usage impacts our thinking. Provide examples for each way, and discuss whether you think the results are positive or negative.
2-Review the positive and negative ways that online identities can be used. Give specific examples for both.
