Instructions:
Conduct some research on ONE of the companies listed on the next page. As you do your
research, take notes on:
- How the company has managed stress-related issues within their company
- What programs/strategies are designed and used by the company to create a stressfree environment.
Scenario:
Imagine that you are working in the Human Resources department of the company you
have chosen to research. The company is concerned with potential absenteeism, low
morale among the employees, a high turnover rate and is looking for ways to help
employees manage their work-life balance and stress.
Your Task:
Design a brochure targeting your employees and helping
them manage stress in the workplace.
You can be as creative as you like in designing your
brochure.
Your brochure should have THREE (3) sections:
1. Factors that cause stress in the company (look at job
roles and responsibilities within the company).
2. Ways to manage stress (this can be found in your
classroom notes from the lessons).
3. Programs that employees can take advantage of in the company (this is where your
research comes in).
Throughout the brochure, you should also include various visual elements (photos,
charts/graphs), which will require some extensive research on stress and stress-management
in the workplace. You should also use various text forms (i.e. paragraphs and point-form)
throughout the brochure.
You should be able to use both the information from the lessons, “Motivation” and “Stress” as
well as the information you find online in your brochure.
Also, please submit an APA citation page on all the sources used for
your information, graphs/charts, and photos! You will lose 5% if you do
not submit an APA citation page in proper format!
