These authentic relationships satisfy both the nurse and patients at personal and professional level. The integrity of the theory depends on the ability to monitor and ensure patient compliance as well as to avoid negligence of the primary role of nurses to assess patient safety (Sagar, &Sagar, 2018). Ultimately, patient safety can be improved if both care providers and patients have a common understanding of the beliefs and practices considered appropriate for healthcare delivery within the respective environment.

Graduate nurses intended to practice must therefore consider culture appropriate methods of nursing care. Therefore, patients are able to cooperate and respond well to proposed interventions rather than resist some of the options they consider contrary to their values (Sagar, &Sagar, 2018). Cultural care brings on board the ability to enhance social responsibility in nursing care as well as enable the patients to enhance their participation to promote care appropriate environments.

Regarding the four metaparadigms, where nursing should encompass the health of a patient, the patient as a whole individual, their environment and the responsibilities of care providers to the patient's health and well-being, transcultural theory emphasizes not only the ability to engage with patients, but also the need to encourage nurses to understand their cultural beliefs and values to promote adequate healthcare (Smith, 2017). The cultural scope will be more relevant for my future nursing career compared to self-care to enable me apply nursing skills from different cultural and community backgrounds.
