Answer:

Part 1:

  • After going through the The Bill of Rights of the U.S. Constitution I have determined that a conflict theorist might argue that the first amendment is the most important for U.S. citizens.
  • As the amendment states that no law should be made by congress that supports or respects the establishment of religion or prohibits free exercise, or hinders freedom of speech, of citizen or press. It also mentions that citizens have the right to assemble for redressal of grievances.
  • As this Amendment deals with rights of citizens to follow the religion of their choice and it supports and sets free the citizens to preach the religion of their choice.
  • The government does not enforce the citizens with a particular religion it plays a major role for pleasing conflict theorist and hence they might consider it as the most important for U.S. Citizens.
  • Also that it supports freedom of speech of citizens and that of press, and give citizens right to assemble and to petition for grievance redresal.

Part 2:

  • In my opinion a functionalist theorist might argue that the most important amendment is the fourth amendment.
  • As this amendment protect citizens and secure them as a persons, their houses, and papers from unreasonable searches and seizures.
  • This amendment ensures that until their is violation of law, no warrants are issued.
  • It ensures that the proper place for search and things or person to be sized is described or affirmed because of the solid reason and enough evidence.
  • As functionalist believe that it is the social consensus that holds the society together. This amendment supports in binding the society with this self and social consensus.
  • Apart from above mentioned reasons one reason that I believe that functionalist theorist might consider this fourth amendment as the most important for the citizens is that it protects the right of citizens from being exploited and exposed in the name of law.
  • As functionalist supports and stands for the right of society so that it binds the society in one big family. They stand for one an-others right and therefore, this amendment might be considered as most important by them.
