The density of water is larger as compared to the density of air. As a result, the change in pressure for air will not deviate very much compared to the change in pressure for water. The change in pressure for water deviates upto considerable amount.

Let us consider that, there is a change in pressure from to bottom for the level of water. The pressure at the top of the water level is 100.2 kPa while pressure at the bottom of the water level is 118 kPa. Thus the change in pressure from the top to the bottom of water level is 118 kPa - 100.2 kPa = 17.8 kPa. Now in case of air, the pressure at the top is 101.2 kPa while pressure at the bottom is 101.6 kPa. Hence in case of air, change in pressure from top to bottom is 101.4 - 101.6 = -0.2 kPa. Thus from the above values, we can say that for the same height, the change in pressure from top to bottom in case of water is large compared to change in pressure from top to bottom in case of air.
