Construct a concept map (flow diagram) that demonstrates how organ systems compensate for a homeostatic imbalance. Choose one of the organ systems that we discussed this semester, and find a common imbalance associated with the organ system. On the concept map, identify the imbalance, then use a series of linkages to show which organs/organ systems attempt to restore the imbalance and how. Some imbalances cannot be completely restored through the actions of organ systems alone but may require medical treatment. Do NOT include medical interventions on your concept map, just demonstrate what the organ systems ATTEMPT to do. You may use one of the following homeostatic imbalances as a topic for your concept map or you may choose one of your own: diabetes mellitus, diabetes insipidus, starvation, dehydration, heat stroke, exercise, asthma, pneumonia, angina, varicose veins, congestive heart failure, etc.
