Research how the media covered the Pulse Nightclub terrorist attack in Orlando, Florida.

I already gathered some information about the attack but I do not know how to connect the attack to media coverage.

Well media did what it does best. They didn't research into the details and just generalized the profile. The guy sounded Arab, so they labelled him a terrorist and since he had a religious background then he must have been against the LGTBQ society. However, Vox News and even History Channel article later debunked that information to state that the guy was actually trying to get revenge for wife who was falsely convicted for obstruction of justice in 2013.

I would suggest that you start off by citing down the initial news statements of different channels(like Fox and CNN). Afterwards, you can suggest by a couple of other incidents that media has a history of reaching to conclusions hastily and then mention the complete side of the story with references. Media has a tendency to look past certain details due to political reasons as well.However, be careful not to get too much one sided, the goal should be to suggest both sides and let the reader decide.
