The outsider by albert camus and A Rose for Emily by William both stories conclusion similar to each other or not ?
The Outsider by Albert Camus and A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner are two different stories that have the same conclusion.
The Outsider tells the story of Meursault, a young man who had murdered an Arab. However, he feels no guilt and does not want to apologize even though he is already sentence for death. In the end, he died happy because he is able to come terms with himself, and he feels worthy of his existence.
On the other hand, A Rose for Emily is about the funeral of Emily herself. Her funeral became the big event of the town, and also became the obligation of the townspeople. In the end, the corpse of Homer Barron; Emily's husband, was found in a room beside her wife. It seems the two has a happy death because they are together.
Hence, the two stories have the same conclusion in a sense that they are both about the theme of contentment and happiness in death.
