In what is called a postmodern world, tolerance for ideologies other than our own is said to be the only absolute and controlling ideology. Inasmuch, the doctrine of sin suggests that all humans are inherently flawed, Christianity is often viewed as taking an intolerant view of others.
Should Christians be embarrassed of the doctrine of sin today? At the least, should Christianity try to soften what it says about the human condition so as to be more readily acceptable to a broader world? What about in a missionary context?
