1. "I Want a Wife" was published almost exactly a half century ago, and it's considered a very important manifesto of feminism and the rights of women. In a series of passionate and ironic paragraphs, the author tries to vindicate the rights of women. Analyze the rhetorical techniques used by the author and discuss how successful she has been in the presentation of her point of view and philosophy.
2. Identify the main idea or thesis of "I Don't Need a DNA Kit to Find My Heritage" and demonstrate how the author of the article has supported it.
3. In "Jan Wong Wants to See Canadians De-hyphenate Themselves", the author engages with the idea of her identity as a descendant of immigrants. Critique the supports she offers for the process of 'de-hyphenation' in regard to the different generations of immigrants.
4. In "Don't Quit Social Media. Put It to Work for Your Career Instead", Patrick Gillooly argues against quitting social media. Does he provide an effective argument? Fully discuss in an essay.
5. The last line of David Brooks' essay "It's Not about You" says: "The purpose in life is not to find yourself. It's to lose yourself.". This point of view goes against the "cultural climate" that argues the opposite. write down critique of Brooks' argument and discuss how well he supports it.
6. Identify June Callwood's thesis in "Forgiveness Story" and explain in an essay how she has supported her thesis.
7. In "Growing up Native", Carol Geddes writes about many issues such as the transition form old-style to modern life, cultural issues like how the natives and the indigenous people are struggling to maintain their identity, etc. Identify and focus on one major idea or issue in this narrative essay and discuss the rhetorical strategies the author has used in order to support her argument and perspective.
