What does biological catalyst mean?

A biological catalyst is an enzyme. Enzymes are proteins that speed up chemical reactions inside cells. Enzymes are important because they allow cells to make and break molecules, create energy, move in their environment, and send and respond to signals from other cells. For example, the enzyme RNA polymerase is essential for copying DNA to mRNA. he mRNA can then be read by a ribosome and the cell can use other enzymes to link together amino acids to make proteins needed by the cell. This is just one example of how enzymes work inside cells. Cells rely on enzymes to keep their chemical reactions going and to stay alive.
