What is the aim of conducting agglutination test, estimating haematocrit using a ruler, evaluating the cell number with a haematocyter and staining blood smears with Giemsa-May Grunwald? What would I want to carry out this techniques?

(a)Agglutination test are used to tecect microbial and viral infections, autoimmune diseases, hormone, drugs and serum protein by agglutination reaction of antigen antibody. In the agglutination tests, the antibody - antigen reaction can be either a direct or passive agglutination reaction. In direct agglutination tests the agglutinating antibodies directly react with antigens on the surface of bacteria or erythrocytes to form visible clumps of particles. In passive hemagglutination tests, agglutinating antibodies react with antigens that have been passively coupled to carrier particles such as erythrocytes to form visible clumps
(b)Ruler is used to measure hematocrit to assess anemia and reduced oxygen-carrying capacity in the hematocrit.
(c)Haematocyter is a counting chamber device used to count blood cells so as to evaluate a range of disorders including anemia, infection and leukemia and also to evaluate components and features of the blood.
(d)May Grunwald- Giemsa staining method is used for morphological inspection and differential counting of blood cells.
