Between the teacher and families?
Step-by-step explanation
What challenges do you anticipate with establishing a collaborative relationship between teacher and student in the classroom environment?
Most of the common challenges rising between a teacher and a student in terms of establishing a collaborative relationship is communication barriers. There are different types of what we call communication barriers. One of these is the cultural barrier. Not all students in the classrooms have same culture or same home that they have grown up to and it will lead to a bigger factor of misunderstanding between a teacher and a student. Another example is the various levels of understanding and comprehension. Some students will have higher level of comprehension and some will not.
One's attitude and behavior can differ from levels. It refers to a person's way of feeling or expressing himself. Since it defines our reflexes and reactions about different situations, teachers or students may have a hard time understanding each others' courses of actions. This can result to harder challenges inside the classroom especially if there will be moments that other behavior will clash to other behavior of the students.
The idea of one vs many (one teacher vs many students) makes it hard to manage one classroom. With all the different kinds of behavior, culture, preferences in life, various perceptions, management inside the classroom is quite hard.
Between the teacher and families?
There are families or parents that although they had the willingness to enroll their children in the school, they will not support some kind of school activities.
There are students that only obeys their parents. By that being said, a great factor of disciplining a student must have the involvement of those people especially parents whom they are comfortable being around with. Lack of parental involvement can result to also lack of participation of the students. Since some students can feel the unwillingness of their parents or families, they will also feel unmotivated to involve as well.
Teachers and parents of course have different perceptions about how to discipline a child. Being said that, with the support of psychology, some people have different types of behavior in different places or environment. Like for example, a student can be quiet at home but too loud at school. In this case, the parent knows how to handle their child in being quiet, but not in being loud since there have different attitudes in different environment, and the same applies in the position of the teacher. This can be a challenge since both parties must have to adjust.
