Describe and justify your choice of the most appropriate indicators of development? Do some indicators seem biased or inappropriate?
The most appropriate indicators of development are:
1. The Gross Domestic Product. This measure tells of the amount of money that a country is able to make from its product in a year. It is an appropriate methods as it tells of the total value of goods as produced in the economy
2. The Human Development Index. This another very appropriate indicator of development as it offers a composite statistic made up from the education index, the income index, life expectancy index, the expected years of schooling and the mean years of schooling.
3. Gross National Product. This method is another appropriate indicator of development and tells of the GDP of a country in addition to the amount that is earned by the citizens of the country regardless of where they are.
Some indicators seem biased or inappropriate in the indication of development. The birth and the death rate in a country is an example. The crude birth and death rates per 1000 tells of the country's overall measure of both education and health of the country. This method offers inappropriate and biasness as the numbers do not offer a full picture of the situation of the nation
