Topic : Gold King Mine waste water spill (2015)

An environmental crisis in Silverton, Colorado wherein a mining industry caused of toxic water waste into the Animas river water shed. Which affects the environment, animals, and the people as well, especially the farmers and rancher where they rely on the rivers for livelihood. This kind of issue is a long-term impacts, which possible still exist in the present times, so the government must look into this kind of issue because the contaminants is not that easily be diluted . Policies must be strictly imposed because it could limit the aquatic life. Such as ; imposing safety and security, imposing penalties from the mining industry, preventive measures to be done, to minimize water waste spill and monthly evaluation if they are following safety protocols.

1.) Water waste spill exposure ; limit aquatic life, trout fishery on downstream and heavy metal contamination.

2.) Temporarily stop fishing and look for any alternative way to earn, like planting crops. Stop going to the river until it's not safe.

3.) The governmenyt agency which is EPA ( Environmental Protection Agency) they built a $1.5M water treatment plant ,  to treat acid mine drainage and proposed a $10 million interim clean-up plan.
