On a personal level, I have experienced people being hesitant to change in our work place. This resistance is evident when some people are subjected to job transfers. Despite the many advantages that might accrue with the changes, they tend to prefer remaining in the current place of work. For instance, one of my best friends in our company was to be transferred to a new locality. The company offered him several allowances in terms of cash and he still declined the offer. The reasons behind his decline included the fear of starting again and creating new friends in the new work place and the fear of adapting to the new climate. He therefore resisted by claiming that most of the activities in his current company's location are dependent on him and that the current location is his family's favorite. Furthermore considering that he was also senior in the contemporary location, he was also afraid of degrading to the junior stage by shifting to a higher standard branch of the organization.
