Consider the three polarizing filters shown in the figure. The angles listed indicate the direction of the transmission axis of each polarizer with respect to the vertical.

Solve each problem and explain your solution in writing.  You should explain what kind of physics you are using and why you choose that model.

1. If vertically polarized light of intensity I0=25.0W/m2 is incident from the left, what is the intensity of the light that exits the last polarizer?
2. If unpolarized light of intensity 15.0W/m2 is incident from the left, what is the intensity of the light that exits the last polarizer?
3. Can you remove one polarizer from this series of filters so that light incident from the left is not transmitted at all if unpolarized light is incident as in part (b)? If so, which polarizer should you remove?
