The Learner-Centered Psychological Principles is a representation of the current knowledge based on the focus of individual learners and learning. The principles apply to all learners; young, old, in, and outside the school. These principles must not be viewed in isolation but should be understood a set of organized principles to promote the highest levels of motivation, learning, and achievement for all learners.

The cognitive and metacognitive factors are the first one on the principles as this is the base where learners create their knowledge upon the complex subject matters and be coherent in meaningful ways. This sets to the motivational and affective factors where learners must be motivated by their teachers for the learners to have their best interests in the subject to be willing in learning and acceptance of knowledge. The developmental and social factors reach out to different opportunities among the classroom where learners communicate with others and their development on physical, intellectual, emotional, and social domains is taken into account. After socializing, the individual differences factors help the learner approach individuality where there are different strategies the learner uses for learning. The different backgrounds must be taken into account as this also have an influence to the learner's capabilities. Assesments must be done as this provides feedback to both learners and teachers towards their learning goals.
