The top three career development activities that I think organizations should provide to their employees are mentoring activities, internship activities and learn group activities. These three activities are the most important because on mentoring activities, it provides support to the employees for their career development and professional aspirations for their job. For internship activities, it makes the employees develop their leadership skills since they will develop new skills and experience from the trainings. For learning group activities, it allows employees to share their knowledge and skills in the group wherein members have common interest. We can measure these activities performance by lagging indicators and leadership indicators. Lagging indicators includes employees opinion surveys, employees' satisfaction and retention and voluntary turnover. On the other hand, leadership indicators allows to proactively address the problems in the organization such as engagement of the employees, wellness factors and the direction of career development. Today, employees are expected to their employer to be more creative on designing career development activities. Employer needs to align their employees personal goals to the company's organizational objectives.
Base on the example, above the best career development activities is the mentoring activities because it will allows the employee to learn more base on he real experience of their mentor. As employees, it is better to have someone that they can get an advise, support your career and count on.
