How does Palinurus, Aeneas's helmsman, die?
Palinurus is said to be the one to die as a sacrifice to guarantee safe passage to Italy for the Trojans. Later, Palinurus falls overboard after being drugged by the god of sleep. When Aeneas comes across Palinurus in the underworld and asks him how it is that he came to die despite a prophecy from Trojan, the latter says that although he survived when he got plunged into the sea, he got washed to the shore after four days and it is here that he got killed and was left unburied.
