Illustrated PowerPoint 2016 Module 3: SAM Project 1a Chattanooga Chocolatier INSERTING OBJECTS IN A PRESENTATION GETTING STARTED Open the file IL_PPT16_3a_FirstLastName_1.pptx, available for download from the SAM website. Save the file as IL_PPT16_3a_FirstLastName_2.pptx by changing the “1” to a “2”. If you do not see the .pptx file extension in the Save As dialog box, do not type it. The program will add the file extension for you automatically. To complete this Project, you will also need to download and save the following support files from the SAM website: Support_IL_PPT16_3a_Caramel.jpg Support_IL_PPT16_3a_Outline.rtf Support_IL_PPT16_3a_Cause.pptx With the file IL_PPT16_3a_FirstLastName_2.pptx still open, ensure that your first and last name is displayed in the presenter notes on Slide 1. If the presenter notes do not display your name, delete the file and download a new copy from the SAM website.   PROJECT STEPS As a sales assistant for Chattanooga Chocolatier, you are helping the owners prepare a business plan presentation for bankers. On Slide 1 (“Chattanooga Chocolatier”), improve the clarity of the picture by applying the Sharpen: 50% correction. On Slide 2 (“Executive Summary”), crop the picture from the left as shown in Figure 1 on the next page.     Figure 1: Cropping a Picture on Slide 2   With Slide 2 still displaying, use the content placeholder on the right to insert the picture from the file Support_IL_PPT16_3a_Caramel.jpg, available for download from the SAM website. On Slide 3 (“Company Facts”), apply the Beveled Oval, Black picture style to the picture of the chocolates and pink ribbon. On Slide 4 (“Projections”), use the content placeholder to insert a Clustered Column chart with the data shown in Table 1 below.   Table 1: Data for Column Chart     Year 1 Year 2 Year 3 Sales 250 500 880 Cost of Goods 180 220 400 Gross Margin 70 280 480 Net Profit -25 25 105 With Slide 4 still displaying, modify the chart as follows: Enter the text Projections (in thousands) in the chart title. Change the chart style to Style 11. With Slide 4 still displaying, insert and format a text box as follows: Insert a text box with the following text: The company will maintain a positive cash balance for Year 1. Change the shape fill color to Orange, Accent 1, Lighter 80% (5th column, 2nd row of the Theme Colors palette). Change the shape outline color to Dark Red, Accent 2 (6th column, 1st row of the Theme Colors palette). Resize the text box so the text appears on three lines as shown in Figure 2 below.
