Save the file as

_2.pptx
by changing the “1” to
a “2”.
o
If you do not see the
.pptx
file extension
in the Save As dialog box, do not
type it. The program will add the file extension for you automatically.
To complete this Project, you will also need to download and save the following
support files from the SAM website:

Support_SC_PPT16_8b_Subway.png
o
Support_SC_PPT16_8b_Travel.jpg
With the file
SC_PPT16_8b_
FirstLastName
_2.pptx
still open,
ensure that
your first and last name is displayed in the presenter notes on Slide 1.
o
If the presenter notes do not display your name, delete the file and
download a new copy from the SAM website.
PROJECT STEPS
1.
You have been assigned the production lead of a new travel app called Travel
Here Now. The app integrates weather, route, and current conditions so tourists
can plan wisely. You customize the Slide Master so the design teams can adapt
the presentation to their testers. View the Slide Master.
a.
On the Integral Slide Master, apply the
Green
theme color.
b.
Apply the
Style 5
background style.
2.
With the Integral Slide Master still displaying, rename the master to
Design-
Team
to ensure everyone understands the design teams are working on it.
3.
On the Title Slide Layout, format the background as follows:
a.
Change the fill to
Pattern fill
.
b.
Change the Foreground color to
Lime, Accent 3, Darker 25%
(7
th
column, 5
th
row in the
Theme Colors palette).
c.
Change the pattern to the
Dotted diamond grid
(3
rd
column, 7
th
row in
the Pattern gallery). (
Hint
: Depending on your version of Office, the
pattern may be named
Dotted diamond
instead.)
4.
On the Title and Content Layout, hide the background graphics to increase the
amount space for your content.
5.
With the Title and Content Layout still displaying, insert and format a picture as
follows:
a.
Insert the picture

download from the SAM website.
b.
Use the Align Right and Align Top align commands to position the picture
on the layout.
6.
On the Section Header Layout, format the text box as follows:
a.
Set the left margin to
0.3”
.
b.
Set the top margin to
0.2”
.
c.
Set the bottom margin to
0.15”
.
7.
With the Section Header Layout still displaying, rotate the text box left as
shown
in Figure 1 below. (
Hint
: Your angle of rotation may differ slightly from the Figure
1.)

On the Title Only Layout, delete the long gradient rectangle at the top of the
slide, and then close Master view.
9.
View the Handout Master, and then format the handout as follows:
a.
Change the Handout Orientation to
Landscape
.
b.
Type
Never miss a connection again
in the header, and then close
Master view.
10.
View the Notes Master, and then format the notes as follows:
a.
Insert the picture
Support_SC_PPT16_8b_Subway.png
, available for
download from the SAM website.
b.
Move the Subway.png picture next to the placeholder as shown in Figure 2
below and then close Master view.

On Slide 5 (“BOOK IT AND GO”), type
Check for changes any time
in the
Notes pane.
In Slide Sorter view, your presentation should look like the Final Figure on the next page.
Save your changes, close the presentation, and then exit PowerPoint. Follow the
directions on the SAM website to submit your completed project.
