program will add the file extension for you automatically.

To complete this SAM Project, you will also need to download and save the following data
files from the SAM website onto your computer:

Open the
_GradingInfoTable
table and ensure that your first and last name is displayed
as the first record in the table. If the table does not contain your name, delete the file
and download a new copy from the SAM website.
PROJECT STEPS
1.
You work in the Software Division of Global Human Resources Consultants (GHRC) that
sells modular Human Resource (HR) software to large international companies.For high-
level planning purposes, you have created an Access database to track new clients, the
HR software modules they have purchased, and the lead consultant for each installation.
In this project, you will complete tasks that help an Access database become a complete
and easy-to-use desktop application.
Create a linked table to the
Support_AC19_12a_Applicants.xlsx
Excel file located in
the default folder using the following information:
a.
The first row contains column headings.
b.
Use
Applicants
for the linked table name.
2.
Create a linked table to the
Support_AC19_12a_Country.accdb
Access file located in
the default folder using the following information:
a.
Link to the
Country
table.
3.
Create a Navigation form using the following information:
a.
Use a
Vertical Tabs, Right
format.
b.
Add the
ClientEntry
and
ConsultantSalary
forms as the first and second tabs, then
modify the captions so that they read as
Client Entry
and
Consultant Salary
.
c.
Add the
ClientDetails
and
ConsultantList
reports as the third and fourth tabs, then
modify the captions so that they read as
Client Details
and
Consultant List
.
d.
Use the name
Startup
to save the navigation form.

With the
Startup
form still open in Form Layout View, reorder the tabs so that the
Consultant Salary
tab is first as shown in Figure 1. Save and close the
Startup
form.

Change the Access options as follows:

Set the
Startup
form as the opening Display Form for the database.
b.
Use
Global Human Resource Consultants
as the Application Title.
c.
Do not close and reopen the database.
6.
Use the Database Documenter as follows:
a.
Document all of the tables in the database.
b.
Export the report as a pdf file using the default name of
doc_rptObjects.pdf
to
the default folder.
c.
Save the export steps saving the export as
Export Tables as PDF
without a
Description.
d.
Close the Object Definition report.
7.
Use the Performance Analyzer as follows:
a.
Analyze all object types.
b.
When it finishes, read the ideas. You will take steps to complete the following
suggestion: "Table Consultant: Relate this table to the others in the database."
c.
Close the Performance Analyzer dialog box.
d.
Open the Relationships window, then drag the
ConsultantID
field from the
Consultant
field list to the
ConsultantID
field in the
Client
field list to create a one-
to-many relationship between the tables.
e.
In the Edit Relationships dialog box, Enforce Referential Integrity on the
relationship.
f.
Save and close the Relationships window.
Save and close any open objects in your database. Compact and repair your database, close it,
and then exit Access. Follow the directions on the SAM website to submit your completed project.
