You work in the Software Division of Global Human Resources Consultants (GHRC) that

sells modular Human Resource (HR) software to large international companies. For high-

level planning purposes, you have created an Access database to track new clients, the

HR software modules they have purchased, and the lead consultant for each installation.

In this project, you will complete tasks that help an Access database become a complete

and easy-to-use desktop application.

Create a linked table to the

Support_AC19_12a_Applicants.xlsx

Excel file located in

the default folder using the following information:

a.

The first row contains column headings.

b.

Use

Applicants

for the linked table name.

2.

Create a linked table to the

Support_AC19_12a_Country.accdb

Access file located in

the default folder using the following information:

a.

Link to the

Country

table.

3.

Create a Navigation form using the following information:

a.

Use a

Vertical Tabs, Right

format.

b.

Add the

ClientEntry

and

ConsultantSalary

forms as the first and second tabs, then

modify the captions so that they read as

Client Entry

and

Consultant Salary

.

c.

Add the

ClientDetails

and

ConsultantList

reports as the third and fourth tabs, then

modify the captions so that they read as

Client Details

and

Consultant List

.

d.

Use the name

Startup

to save the navigation form.

4.

With the

Startup

form still open in Form Layout View, reorder the tabs so that the

Consultant Salary

tab is first as shown in Figure 1. Save and close the

Startup

form.

b.

When it finishes, read the ideas. You will take steps to complete the following

suggestion: "Table Consultant: Relate this table to the others in the database."

c.

Close the Performance Analyzer dialog box.

d.

Open the Relationships window, then drag the

ConsultantID

field from the

Consultant

field list to the

ConsultantID

field in the

Client

field list to create a one-

to-many relationship between the tables.

e.

In the Edit Relationships dialog box, Enforce Referential Integrity on the

relationship.
