Answer:

1) How was the type of literature written by Mary Shelley and Edgar Allan Poe similar? How was it different?

- Mary Shelley and Edgar Allan Poe is similar in writing literature that has not normal characters. Like for example is Shelley's Frankenstein in which he is a monster that is in human form. Then in Poe's PymBenito Cereno ?wherein the story has ghosts, abnormal turtles, and ocean's eyes. On the other hand, Mary Shelley and Edgar Allan Poe have also differences in writing literature. Shelley's focus is more on science fiction while Poe's focus is more on the paranormal things that is happening in nature and human nature itself. For example is Shelley's Frankenstein wherein it is all about Victor's experimentation, and her The Mortal Immortal wherein it is all about potions in the name of elixir. While Poe's focuses more on the mysteries happening in the natural world. Like for example in his PymBenito Cereno wherein it has the characters of ghosts there, turtles, and the ocean having eyes. All mysteries occuring naturally in nature without any interference of science.

2) What does the protagonist in The Mortal Immortal do (against Cornelius's wishes) after he is rejected by Bertha for another man?

- Winzy; the protagonist of The Mortal Immortal, was rejected by Bertha because he did not meet with her one night. After that, Cornelius ask Winzy to watch an elixir for him, and to call him if the elixir already turned white from pink. Cornelius also wished Winzy to do not touch the elixir no matter what. However, it is believed that the elixir is a "cure for love" or "anti-love", so Winzy drink it for the reason that he believes that his love for Bertha will already be removed from him if he drinks the elixir.
