Classmate 1:
While doing some surface reading concerning the Hippocratic Oath, I am understanding that it is not as strict of a rule as I once assumed it was. Theoretically, it makes the most sense to adhere to this mandate, but when looking deeper into the matter, I am starting to form a better picture of what the marrying of "harm in helping" looks like that sometimes occurs regarless of best intentions and practices.
*Why some counselors think it best and are inclined to not addressing specific traumas early on in the counseling process while others believe confronting things head on leads to more active work progress and sustainable longterm success for clients.
*How to move helpers from blindspots and making costly assumptions surrounding providing care
*Having more helpers buy into the notion that trauma informed care is beneficial for their clients and for them also
*Does hearing testimony directly from victims on the recieving end of subpar medical/mental health services promote better quality amd mindful care
These are some of the questions I hope to explore more of for this paper.
Classmate 2:
Effectiveness of Marriage Counseling with Veterans
For my concept paper I researched the statistical effectivness of marriage counseling for active duty personnel. After looking into this topic, I now would like to do the same but for couples where one or both spouses are veterans. It would be interesting to compare the findings with the active duty personnel to veterans and how adjusting back to civilian life effects the relationship between spouses.
Classmate 3:
Further Knowledge On Mathematical Integration
As a result of this course, I find it a good goal for my personal growth in integrating more knowledge in mathematics and its relation to therapy. This will be to the benefit of my clients as well as my personal practice. I also find it important to practice more of what we have learned in this class to obtain more knowledge in this realm. I understand that some jobs may not require this, but in the thought of personal development and growth. It doesn't hurt.
