Introduction:
The MGT599 Session Long Project is designed to work in parallel with the Case Assignments, which build on each other module by module.
After completing the Module 3 Case Assignment, in which you wrote a 6- to 8-page paper choosing from four generic (Porter) strategies, integrating that strategy with your SWOT analysis from Module 2, determining whether Pepsico’s strategic actions align with the generic strategy, and offering suggestions for how Pepsico should alter its strategic actions to address items from the SWOT analysis, complete the following SLP assignment.
Assignment Instructions:
Using the same organization you chose in the Module 1 and Module 2 SLP Assignments, write a 2- to 3-page paper addressing the following assignment components based on the Module 3 Case Assignment.
Assignment Components:
1. Choose which of the four generic (Porter) strategies your chosen organization follows, and write about why you made that selection.
2. Now that you have already written about how your chosen organization can leverage strengths to take advantage of opportunities, and repair weaknesses to address threats (in SLP 2), and now that you have done the same for Pepsico (in Case 3), briefly compare how you advised your chosen organization versus how you advised Pepsico. What was similar? What was different?
3. In your Case 3 assignment, you discussed how your view of Pepsico has changed or been confirmed through strategic analysis and made suggestions for revision to Pepsico’s vision, mission, values, and goals. Briefly do the same for your chosen organization and make a brief comparison to the suggestions you made for Pepsico.
Note on Style:
While you should use proper structure and formatting for this assignment as in all assignments, this SLP can be more journalistic in approach and style. While the Case Assignment required a specific business structure, the SLP is simply a narrative-style application and comparison of what you learned in the Case Assignment to the organization you chose for this assignment.
