following are 3 main thigs t

1. there are limited resources on earth to support a large population, so use these resources in a sensible way keeping in view the sustainability.
2. conservation of these resources and sustainability of the environment in necessary.
3. as the islanders didn't care about their surrounding environment and cause severe deforestation which resulted in elimination of trees. this deforestation cause soil erosion and made land unfit for agricultural growth. this shows how forests help us in our food production.
4. islanders had to stop building houses from wood as a result of deforestation. this shows if their is no sustainable consumption of resources you will not find it for further use one day, so, conservation of resources is necessary.
5. tress are necessary for keeping climate in good health.
