3 Article Summaries

For each summary, please include the article title and authors and then a brief, one paragraph summary. The write up should include a sentence or two describing the study’s purpose, a description of the methods they used and then a few sentences summarizing what they found. Here is an example of a nicely done write up (please note that it is not necessary for you to tell me how they measured their variables).

This should be APA done. Any other questions or if you cannot view the articles, please let me know.

Example: Personality Traits and Self-Esteem by Amirazodi, F and Amirazodi, M.

The researchers conducted a study on university students in Iran in order to evaluate how self esteem is affected by personality styles, to determine which personality style best predicts self-esteem, and gender differences in personality styles. The personality style was measured by the Big 5 Personality Factor’s Scale (which measures degree of openness, neuroticism, conscientiousness, agreeableness, and extraversion) while self esteem was measured by Coopersmith’s Self-Esteem Scale. The researchers found that openness, extraversion, conscientiousness, agreeableness were all positively correlated with self-esteem while neuroticism was negatively correlated with self-esteem. The same result was found that openness, extraversion, conscientiousness, agreeableness were all predictors of self-esteem while neuroticism was not a predictor. Lastly, when studying the gender differences the researchers found that the significant difference was in neuroticism, girls tended to score higher in that domain.
