This time, make sure you have a 5 paragraph essay with an introduction ending with a thesis that answers the question, 3 body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
TOPIC : There are many different ways of learning how to live life as an adult. Some people believe that the best way is by listening to the advice of family and friends. Other people believe it is better to learn through personal experience, including making your own mistakes. Which do you think is preferable and why? Plan and write an essay that gives your opinion and has specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Before you write:
1. Look at the handout describing basic essay structure.
2. Look at the helpful templates in TSIS Chapter 1, especially the introduction templates on pages 23-27 and the conclusion template on page 28.
3. Make sure you read any feedback comments from your diagnostic essay.
While you write:
1. Think about the big picture. Is the "they say/I say" clear in your essay? Is your position clear? Are your reasons clear, explained, and supported?
After you write:
1. Proofread! Watch for your trouble spots.
2. Check your MLA formatting. Go back to the examples and MLA template from the Name Paragraph assignment in Module 1 if you need to.
