You are the manager of manufacturing organisation with 100 employees total, that produces and designs kitchen appliances. You have regional offices around Australia and a production facility in Perth, with a head office in Melbourne that houses your sales, design, marketing, accounting, and operations teams.

 

It is 1’st of April 2020 and the peak of coronavirus pandemic is coming. Most flights are suspended with schools and universities moving online. The government has just announced that all operations that have staff that work within 1.5m must cease operations from 2nd of April, this includes your organisations. There is no indication to how long these measures may be around for.

 

Being the leader of your organisation, you therefore need to communicate with the stakeholders. Create a report that includes three separate pieces of communication, directed towards:

1)Suppliers

2)Staff

3)Customers

 

In this report write the exact wording that you would use for each intended communication (300-400 words each). You may convey whatever information you deem is appropriate for each group, and specify any online or digital communication format (e.g. email, MS Teams WhatAapp, Zoom, etc.). you can fabricate any background information and company culture about the organisation you wish.

 

Be creative with the communication and think carefully about the content, purpose and tone of each message, in light of how it’s likely to be received and what impact that may hold on its recipients. Provide a comprehensive debrief following each piece of communication that explains your approach (around 600-700 words each). Refer to relevant leadership skills and theory that has been covered throughout the unit. Support your application of the concepts in the debrief with reference to academic literature wherever possible. (10 references minimum, sourced from google scholar)
