Answer:

What is the difference between criminal law and tort law?

Criminal law provides a way of punishing people who commit crimes, it acts to protect all citizens from such wrongdoing, Criminal law is not concerned with the individual victim while the tort law  on the other hand provides a way to compensate victims of wrongful acts.

What are those three types of crime and give an example of each?

  • Social engineering; social engineering involves criminals making contact with you usually by means of phone or even the email account. They want to gain your confidence as a customer service agent so you will give the necessary information needed. This is typically a password, the company you work for, a bank information. Cybercriminals will find out what they can about you on the internet and then attempt to add you as a friend on social accounts. Once they gain access to your account then they can sell your information or secure accounts in your name. An example is where a person takes your password and accesses your bank account and gets away with all your money
  • Cyberstalking; this is kind of cybercrime that involves online harrassment where the user is subjected to plethora of online messages and emails. Typically cyberstalkers use social media, websites and search engines to intimidate a user and instill fear. Usually cyberstalking knows their victim and makes the person feel afraid or concerned for their safety. Example a person approaching you in a whatsapp patform and making false accusations to you and stating the pen alt and this will make you afraid and maybe ask for some amount to handle the whole issue and you end up sending the amount
  • Prohibited or illegal content; This cybercrime involves criminals sharing and distributing inappropriate content that can be considered highly distressing and offensive. Offensive content can include,  sexual activities between adults, videos with intense violet and videos of criminal activity. Illegal content includes materials advocating terrorism-related acts and child exploitation material. This type of content exists both on everyday  internet and on the dark web, an anonymous network.
