If you label the places, it helps one identify the proper place to round. Notice your examples down the side. 1 is in the thousands place, 2 is in the hundreds place, 3 is in the tens place, 0 is in the ones (units( place, Decimal point 9 is in the tenths place, 3 is in the hundredths place, 2 is in the thousandths place, 5 is in the ten thousandths place.
If you want to round to the hundredths place, look at the value in the thousandths place. if the value in the thousandths place is equal to or greater than five round up the value in the hundredths place. If The value in the thousandths place is less than five leave the number in the hundredths place as it is. If the value in the thousandths place is equal to an absolute five (5, 50, 500), and the value in the hundredths place is odd, round to next even. If the value is even, then leave the value as even. This is important if you are collecting data, your values will not be skewed upward by rounding.
