Because the connectivity is open and there are some risks involved. It is due to poor security standards or mixed with not properly developed technologies, make it difficult to design and deploy secure wireless networks. The attack of wired networks exist in wireless networks also.

“War driving” or “war flying” is the act of locating and possibly exploiting connections to wireless local area networks while driving around a city in a moving vehicle, using a computer or laptop, an antenna which is placed on the top the car, smartphone or personal digital assistant. It is also called access point mapping.
