Using the STAR technique, you should structure the answer as follows:

S - Outline the situation, in which you needed to act.

T - Identify the task (or objective), which you needed to complete (or achieve).

A - Discuss the actions you took, to achieve your objective.

R - Discuss the result of your actions, and what you learned from the experience.

 

Note: Hypothetical questions can also be answered using the STAR technique. i.e "What would you do if...?"

 

1.     Can you tell us about a time you've worked as part of a team to achieve a goal?

2.     Can you tell us the biggest challenge you faced in your last job and how you dealt with it?

3.     Can you tell us about a difficult decision you've made in the last year?

4.     Tell us about a weakness you have that you've worked to overcome.

5.     Describe a time when you were faced with a stressful situation that demonstrated your coping skills.

6.     Can you tell us about a time you've had to go above and beyond the call of duty to get the job done.
